I'm looking for recommendations on the best screen capture and video editing applications available for Linux. Previously, I used Nvidia's video capture on Windows for recording directly from my graphics card. What tools do you use on Linux, particularly for capturing gameplay from Steam games?

You can't go wrong with OBS and DaVinci Resolve! Both are excellent for different aspects of video creation.
I highly recommend OBS! It's a solid choice for both screen capture and streaming, and it works great on Linux as well as Windows. For video editing, you should definitely check out DaVinci Resolve, though installation can be tricky on Linux. Once you get it up and running, it's one of the best editing programs out there!
OBS is really reliable and works smoothly on Linux. I’ve been using it for my gaming streams without any issues.
I’m not a pro editor, but I’ve had a good experience with Kdenlive. It's powerful and designed specifically for Linux, which is a plus. The more you learn about it, the better it gets! For effects, you might want to look into Natron for 2D or Blender if you're interested in 3D editing.
I just installed Kdenlive too and it seems to have everything I need for editing. Thanks for the tip!

What kind of issues did you run into while installing DaVinci on Linux?
