I'm currently using a 2014 Chromebook G2 11 with Debian and GNOME installed. It's pretty slow due to low SSD and RAM, so I'm looking for suggestions on lightweight Linux distributions that could run better on my machine. Any recommendations?

Have you considered Alpine Linux? It's super lightweight, especially if you pair it with a minimal desktop environment. There’s a great video tutorial out there that makes installation easy!
If you're using your own Chromebook, that's great! I’ve had success running Debian with lighter desktop environments like LXDE, MATE, or XFCE. Puppy Linux and CrunchBang++ are also good alternatives that can breathe new life into older hardware.
MX Linux is definitely a solid choice! It’s lightweight and comes with plenty of software options. SparkyLinux and Q4OS are also worth checking out if you want something that won’t bog down your system.
Yeah, it’s mine. I really like GNOME's interface, but it just runs really slow on this machine.
