Hey everyone! I'm still pretty new to Linux and began my journey with Bazzite and KDE Plasma, which I've been enjoying so far. My tech-savvy background is mostly Windows since '95, but I'm getting used to Linux. I work in tech support and can handle terminal commands with some guidance. I'm curious if sticking with Bazzite is a good choice or if I should explore more robust distros for long-term use. My main activities involve watching streaming shows and movies, listening to music via Spotify, browsing the web (including social media), and gaming. I want a distro that emphasizes stability over having the latest features. My PC is quite capable with an R7 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, 7900 XT, and plenty of SSD storage. I'm open to suggestions for distros that fit my usage.

For a powerful system like yours, I actually think Windows 11 might be better suited. But if you're determined to switch to Linux, then Linux Mint or Ubuntu could work well for you.
Given your solid setup, you might want to try a leading-edge distro. Fedora and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed are both solid options that are still stable but offer more up-to-date software. Just keep in mind that neither comes with proprietary media codecs, so you'll have to install those separately after setting up. You can check guides for adding those codecs on Fedora and OpenSUSE.
If you're looking for something reliable with minimal changes, I recommend Debian. It generally maintains stability well. And if you want newer packages, opting for the testing branch can give you a good balance.
Have you thought about Arch or CachyOS? They're pretty versatile and could fit your gaming and media needs, but Arch is somewhat complex for beginners.
Arch Linux for a noob? I've heard it's kind of tough for new users.
I'm looking to move away from Windows. What makes you recommend Windows for my system in particular?
