Hey everyone! My awesome boss has given me the green light to work from home, and now I'm figuring out how to set up my workspace. I'm curious about what type of chair you all use for long hours at home. Do you prefer a gaming chair or an office chair? Since I'll be sitting for at least 6 hours a day due to my job, I really need some advice. I don't know much about what features to look for when choosing a chair, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I personally love my Steelcase Gesture chair! It’s a bit pricey, but it's incredible for long hours at the desk. I've had other models, but this one is definitely my favorite. If you're on a budget, look for used options from office liquidation places; you can find some hidden gems!

I'm also a fan of the Gesture! It’s super comfy, and I even have one at my gaming setup. My cats love it too, but they have managed to scratch it a bit.

How's the armrest situation on the Gesture? I adjust mine a lot, and I'm wondering if they move easily.

For me, it’s ergonomic chairs all the way! Gaming chairs are often designed like bucket seats, which isn’t great for your back. Companies like Herman Miller and Steelcase both offer excellent options. Just steer clear of gaming chairs if you want real comfort!

Completely agree! I once bought a gaming chair thinking it was a steal, but my back was not happy after a few weeks!

Don't overlook the option of a standing desk! It can really help with back health. I use a mix of both; I have a Leap chair for sitting and an exercise ball chair for when I want to switch things up. It makes a difference. Plus, a mini treadmill can be fun!

If you're serious about comfort, a used Herman Miller Aeron is a legendary choice. You can often find them for $400 to $500, and they’re known to last a long time with easily replaceable parts. If you want to invest in something for the long haul, a new one is definitely worth considering!

Totally agree! Getting a used one can save you cash while still getting a top-notch chair. I've had mine for years, and it's been a game changer for my back.

I haven't bought used items before, so I'm a bit wary. Got scammed once on Facebook Marketplace, so I'm trying to be cautious this time.
