I'm feeling like my 5.1GHz 7600K just isn't cutting it anymore with gaming, especially since I can't hit 30fps in Space Marine 2 whether I'm at 1080p or 1440p. The stuttering gets worse when there are more enemies on screen, and I've even tried changing the GPU thermal pads. My PC is loud and hot, and I think it might be time for an upgrade. Here's my current setup:
- 7600K
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- Z270i Strix motherboard
- EVGA RTX 2070 Black GPU
What options do I have to improve my performance?

You should definitely consider getting a new motherboard and CPU. You can go for LGA1700 or AM4, which will let you keep your DDR4 RAM. If budget allows, a new GPU would also be a great idea; the RTX 2070 still plays modern games, but usually at lower settings. This could really help boost your gaming experience!
Since you’re using an ITX board, thermal issues might be a big concern. It’s all about your budget for upgrades, but any modern i3 would be a solid upgrade from your current setup. A new case, along with a B760 motherboard and an i3-12100F or something better like a 12600KF could really make a difference!

I totally agree! I already have a Corsair 750W platinum PSU and want to ditch the ITX case due to overheating. A new motherboard, CPU, and case seem like the way forward. Thanks for the input!
