I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 5600X on an Asus TUF B550M PLUS motherboard with 16GB of RAM (2x8GB Corsair 3200MHz) in dual channel configuration. I'm considering adding an extra 8GB stick of Corsair RAM, but it runs at a slower speed of 2400MHz. My question is: will this addition be beneficial for overall performance, despite the slower speed? I'm aware I'll lose some speed, but I'm wondering if the tradeoff for increased capacity is worth it. Has anyone tried using three RAM sticks like this or something similar? I'd love to hear your experiences!

You could give it a shot and see how it goes! The performance gain or loss really depends on what applications you're using. Just keep in mind that the slower RAM will cause all sticks to run at its speed, so if you have both faster and slower stick, they’ll match the lowest speed when running together. It's a bit of a mixed bag depending on your needs!
I wouldn't recommend it. Adding that 2400MHz stick could actually hurt your performance since it’ll make everything run at that speed, which is way lower than what your other sticks can handle. The only time it might help is if you're running out of RAM during heavy loads. But honestly, if you're gaming with lots of mods and hitting that 16GB limit, you might see some stutters or crashes rather than just lower FPS.
