What Are the Best Upgrades for My Gaming and AI PC?

I'm currently looking to upgrade my PC, and here's what I have so far: a B450 GAMING PLUS MAX motherboard, 40GB of DDR4 RAM (which can support up to 128GB), an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, and a GeForce RTX 2060 Super GPU. What I'm aiming for next is a powerful gaming option that can also handle AI tasks. I want to run applications like text-to-image, text-to-video, image-to-video, and code generation locally without any lag. I need recommendations on how to build a strong setup that meets these needs, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That's a solid setup you already have! To enhance your gaming and AI performance, think about upgrading to an RTX 3090 or similar GPU, as they have much higher VRAM for handling AI tasks. You can also boost your RAM to utilize the full 128GB that your motherboard supports, especially since you're looking into multitasking without lag. Depending on your needs, consider SSDs for your active models, as they'll significantly improve load times for the software you're running.

If budget isn't an issue, I would advise against typical consumer options. A server setup with dual Xeon processors and plenty of ECC RAM — like 1.5TB — would really enhance your performance for AI tasks. In terms of GPUs, using something like 4 Blackwell GPUs could also be a game-changer. You could look into building your rig with used components to save costs while still getting powerful hardware. For AI, mainstream CPUs generally don't cut it, so consider going with something like an Intel 10980E for processing. Also, a good motherboard such as the ASUS X299 SAGE can accommodate your needs very well due to its PCI lanes and ports.
