I'm excited because we've finally upgraded to fiber internet, going from 40 Mbps to a whopping 900 Mbps! However, I still experience lag while gaming on WiFi. I'm curious if this speed boost will solve my issues, or should I look into a powerline adapter or a WiFi booster? Unfortunately, hardwiring isn't an option for me.

I recommend trying a powerline adapter first. You can find some decent ones online for under £20! I personally use the BT V2 mini connectors. Just keep in mind, powerline can usually only handle about 150 Mbps and might lag under heavy use. But for gaming, it only requires about 3 Mbps, so it should be fine. You might want to mix it up: use powerline for gaming and WiFi for downloads and updates.
Have you considered testing your new speeds before investing in additional equipment? Honestly, going from 40 to 900 Mbps is a significant jump! If you still face issues, I’d recommend a powerline adapter over a booster since it tends to be more reliable.
