I'm looking to dual-boot Linux for my AI development work. I've been using GlazeWM on Windows and really like it, so I want something similar in the Linux environment. I'm planning to install Arch since that's what I'm using for WSL, but I might also consider other distros like Debian. I've heard a lot about Hyprland being popular, but I'd love to know what other window managers are out there.

GlazeWM is actually pretty close to i3, as it's inspired by it. However, for Wayland, you’d want to use Sway, which supports i3 config files, making the transition feel familiar. Also, just a heads up: the Linux distro you choose doesn't strictly dictate your window manager. You can easily switch them out. I'd advise starting with a more user-friendly distro like Ubuntu or Mint if you're new to it. Arch can be quite a challenge for beginners, especially with drivers and everything. It might be better to get comfortable first with something that works out of the box.
Hyprland's popularity can be attributed to its eye-catching aesthetics. However, I found that its approach - 'move fast, break things' - clashed with my workflow. If you're looking for a more stable option, SwayWM might suit you better, although it has its own limitations. Personally, I found SwayFX to hit a nice balance, but just keep in mind that some of their repositories are user-maintained, so check the code for safety.
Sway is a solid window manager. I used it for a while and enjoyed my experience with it.
I've tried a few window managers and ultimately settled on Hyprland. It has a great balance of configuration options and since I wanted to transition to Wayland, it seemed like a solid choice. When I created a fresh installation of Arch, I made a new user for each window manager and tested three different ones. I didn't set it up completely, just enough to see if I liked them. I didn't have any issues with overlap since I skipped using a greeter. It was kind of a hassle to set everything up, but it was worth it to be able to switch between them and figure out what I preferred.
I use Pop!_OS and its built-in window manager works great for me.
