I recently tried to ship a laptop worth $800 from Canada to the US via UPS, and the import fees came out to a staggering $276! Is this something that's normal? How do you all handle shipping your tech gear to your US offices?

Honestly, shipping tech like this often isn’t worth it. I suggest shipping from the US to US employees instead. If you don’t have a solid presence in the US, just order directly from a manufacturer or reseller here.
You must be joking! That fee seems absurd, but hey, welcome to the 'great' America, where they love to add taxes. Just gotta roll with the punches, right?
I think it's kind of ridiculous to pay that much for shipping a standard laptop. Honestly, if possible, I’d recommend buying hardware locally in the US instead. It just saves you all the customs hassle and extra costs.
Absolutely! Buying from a local supplier means you avoid those nasty import fees altogether.
What we do is buy everything locally for our US offices and manage the provisioning remotely. It’s way more straightforward that way!
Lol, I get it! I just wanted to see how others are managing the shipping costs.
