I recently came across an interesting post discussing the effectiveness of AI coding tools. The author argued that if these tools were truly beneficial, we would see a surge in low-quality or 'shovelware' products created with them. However, this hasn't happened, leading to the conclusion that perhaps these tools aren't as effective as claimed. One potential reason for this lack of usage could be their cost. So, to better understand this, I've created a survey to find out how much people actually spend on AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and others. Your input would be invaluable, and the survey only requires answering one question!

I’m in the zero club too! I usually try to do things faster by myself and it works just fine! 😂
I also haven't spent anything. I've been using the free tier of various tools and right now I'm focused on Gemini since I have six months of free access to it.
Zero for me! I keep experimenting with free options like ChatGPT and Claude, and they work well enough. No need to spend money!
I prefer to run tools locally when I need them rather than spending money on subscriptions. Always feel like I can find free alternatives.
I haven't spent anything on AI coding tools either. If I had to, I probably wouldn't use them at all.
