I'm diving into learning Python and came across some sources that say it's mainly good for machine learning. I have a feeling that might not be the whole story, so I'm curious — what other fields or applications is Python strong in? I want to make sure I choose a direction that plays to Python's strengths and doesn't lead me to areas where another language might have the upper hand.

You might want to rethink your approach. It’s generally better to choose an area you’re interested in and then learn the relevant languages, rather than starting with the language itself.
If you want to see what Python can do, check out GitHub. Just filter by language and you’ll find a ton of projects to explore.
Don't forget about engineering and scientific modeling! Python is quite powerful in those areas as well.
Yes, it sounds like you've got it wrong. Python is far more versatile than just being suitable for ML.
How about sharing those sources that led you to think Python is only for machine learning? It’d be interesting to see what you found!
