I'm trying to figure out the right cable to connect my PowerColor Reaper AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU to my PSU. My GPU needs two 8-pin connectors, but I only have one PCIe 8-pin available. Can I use the CPU's 8-pin connector, or should I try using two 6-pin plus 2-pin PCIe connectors instead? My power supply is an ASUS Prime 850W Gold.

Your power supply usually comes with extra PCIe cables, so check for those! If you can’t find them, don't hesitate to reach out to ASUS support for replacements. They'll help you get the right cables you need.
Looks like you've got everything you need! Just combine the 6-pin and 2-pin ends from your PCIe cables to create the two 8-pin connectors for your GPU. The PSU end should have a 12-pin connector that fits right in there. And remember, CPU connectors won't work with GPUs; they're only meant for motherboards.
You can't use the CPU 8-pin connector because it won't fit; they're keyed differently. Plus, it’s wired in a way that could actually fry your GPU if you somehow forced it in! Instead, use the PCIe 6-pin + 2-pin connectors you have. Those are designed to snap together to form the 8-pin you need for your GPU. Just connect them snugly, and you'll be set!
