What can I build for a budget of $1000 NZD?

I'm looking to build a PC but I know times are tough with prices the way they are. My laptop is seriously struggling to run the programs I need. I've already got a case, fans, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz. I plan to buy a new power supply (PSU) and motherboard (MOBO), but I'm okay with getting other parts second-hand. I can stretch my budget to around $1200 NZD if absolutely necessary, but I really don't want to.

What do you plan to do with the PC? Given your budget, I’d suggest considering a second-hand AM4 system—it might give you a better bang for your buck!

I do a lot of CAD work, but my laptop doesn't handle Fusion 360 well. I also play Soulsborne games and some platformers.

For your budget, definitely look for an AM4 motherboard. You might want to snag a Ryzen 3600 if you find a good deal, or if you're lucky, maybe a 5600X!

Is this Ryzen 3600X a decent deal? [Link](https://www.ebay.com/itm/406562263664?_skw=ryzen+5)
