I have a Lenovo Yogi 7i Zenbook, and unfortunately, the back cover broke. I took it to a local repair shop, but they informed me that Lenovo doesn't sell this part, and it's not available from typical suppliers either. They suggested I might have to wait a long time for a replacement, and even hinted at the option of buying a new laptop. As a college student, I can't afford that. My laptop works perfectly fine otherwise. Is there anything I can do to resolve this situation?

Consider calling local e-waste recycling shops as well. They often have spare parts from old electronics, and you might get lucky finding what you need.
From my experience, it can be a real headache finding Lenovo parts. We've had clients waiting over 8 months for specific parts. But if you can find the part on eBay, you could just buy it and bring it to the shop to fix it for you.
You might want to check out the used market for a replacement. Sometimes you can find a broken laptop of the same model being sold for parts, which could include the back cover you need. It’s a common issue with laptops, and it might save you some cash!
Seriously, looking on eBay is a good move. Just search for the part name along with your laptop model. The repair shop might be a bit pessimistic, so trying a different place could also yield better results!
If your shop can’t get it, try contacting Lenovo support directly and see if they can help you with repairs. Sometimes they might have options that aren’t obvious.

Exactly! Lenovo has been notoriously difficult about making spare parts available since they took over from IBM. So buying a used one could be your best bet.
