What can I do if my phone still has a virus after a factory reset?

I recently reset my phone to factory settings because I discovered a virus about a week ago. However, just last night and today, I've noticed a tracking app that seems to still be on my phone. I'm not sure how to get rid of it since the factory reset didn't help. What steps should I take next?

It's pretty rare for modern Android or iOS devices to get a virus without security settings being changed or downloading from untrusted sources. If the problem is coming from an app, you can usually just uninstall it if you downloaded it from the app store. Do you think this could be a rooted phone?

Yeah, I might have seen something sketchy on a website instead of an app. It's an A33 5G, which is pretty new.
