I have a Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold ATX power supply, but it's too small for my Phanteks XT Pro Ultra case. Is there a way to make this work without buying a new power supply?

Did your PSU not come with a SFX-to-ATX bracket? That would help you install it in a bigger case without needing to buy a new one. But watch out for the cables; if they’re too short, you’ll need some cable extensions.

If you're looking to save costs, check for an SFX-to-ATX adapter plate as well. It might allow you to fit your current PSU into your case. Just remember, whatever route you go, there might still be some expense involved, unless you can resell the SFX.

Probably a stupid question, but how dangerous is it if I don't attach it to the case? Or if I only use 2 screws?

For what it’s worth, getting a standard 850W ATX power supply might be the best option if you're considering a switch. It might cost you some money, but you’ll likely find a better deal with ATX supplies than with SFX.

I didn’t buy it, I got it used.
