Hey everyone! I'm gearing up for an interview for a Hardware Technician position, officially known as a System Services Representative. The role involves doing onsite repairs for PCs, laptops, printers, and ATMs. I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience in this kind of role or has gone through a similar interview process. What should I anticipate during the interview? Any common questions I should prepare for? I'd appreciate any tips or insights from those who have been in my shoes. Thanks a bunch!

I did a similar job a few years back, and it mainly involved diagnosing issues on-site and ordering parts if it turned out to be a hardware fault. One common challenge is having the right parts ready — if they’re not available or if the wrong one shows up, that can really frustrate customers. Communication is key here! You'll probably be asked how you'd handle an angry customer, so think about scenarios where you had to provide updates and manage frustrations. Also, having a good grasp on diagnosing hardware issues is crucial, but you’ll likely have support for that.

Haha, totally valid points! Managing customer anger is part of the job for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful!
