Hey everyone! I started my journey about a couple of months ago aiming to become a software engineer and have been learning through Mimo. I initially attempted the full-stack developer path but only got about 35% through that certificate before I felt it wasn't the right fit for me. Now, I'm trying to learn backend development, specifically with Express and more advanced JavaScript, but I'm really struggling. I've already completed my CSS certificate and most of HTML and JavaScript, and I'm curious about becoming a front-end developer. I don't consider myself great at styling, but I believe I could improve it with practice. For front-end development, are there typically guidelines from employers regarding the design or do I need to do the design work myself? Any advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like you're really pushing yourself! For front-end development, it's pretty common for employers to provide some design guidelines or a style guide to follow. This way, you're not completely on your own, but you'll still have some creative freedom to express your coding style and work with their vision.
Just keep in mind that not every employer has strict guidelines. Sometimes they might give you a general idea and expect you to come up with the creative solutions. But that can be a fun challenge too!
It sounds like you're motivated, but don’t rush it. Learning to code can take a bit of time, and everyone's path is different. If front-end excites you more than backend, maybe focus on that. Mimo is a decent platform for learning at your own pace, so you're on the right track!
That's good to know! It makes sense to have some guidelines in place to help steer the design process.
