I'm a 23-year-old guy with a computer science degree and significant experience, making way more than juniors and seniors in my area. However, I'm struggling to get sponsorship for job opportunities in countries where I can earn a decent living and advance my career. My goal is to land a job in North America, Australia, or the EU. While I know salaries in the EU will be lower, they still exceed what I currently earn. I'm trying to figure out whether I should focus on DevOps or backend development and what certifications or steps I should take to become more hirable. Should I also consider getting a master's degree? I need to make a move soon as my current options are limiting my career growth.

Honestly, the way you express yourself comes off as a bit immature, which might hinder your job search more than you realize. Rather than focusing on certifications alone, maybe consider working on your attitude and communication skills; that could be your biggest hurdle.

Thanks for the feedback! I like to think I'm nice to those who deserve it, but I appreciate the honesty.

If you're aiming for jobs in North America, Australia, or the EU, I highly recommend getting certifications like the AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Docker Certified Associate, or Kubernetes Administrator if you lean towards DevOps. For backend development, certifications like the Oracle Java Certification or PCEP for Python could make you more marketable. While a master’s might help, it's not a must-have if you show off a strong portfolio and relevant certs. It would also be wise to network on LinkedIn; building connections can lead to new opportunities. Focus on where your skills can really shine!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely look into those certs.

Do you have any insights on job prospects in the Middle East? Thanks!

The best qualification you can have is experience! Do you really want to list the ‘school of hard knocks’ on your resume, though? Make sure you're backing up your experience with solid skills rather than just life lessons.

Haha, yeah, I’ll have to think about how to phrase that. Any suggestions on what to include from my experience?
