What CPU Should I Upgrade to with My Current Setup?

I'm currently using an Intel i5-12400F with an Asus B660m WiFi motherboard. I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from a 3070 to a 9070XT, and I'm wondering what CPU I should consider upgrading to next. Any suggestions?

Your B660 supports Intel's 12th and 13th-gen CPUs. If you're planning on playing at 1440p or 4K, focus on that GPU upgrade first and then see if the CPU still holds you back.

The i7-12700KF or 13700KF would be solid choices if you're looking for a performance boost.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into those options.

I had a similar setup where I switched from Intel to AMD because my B660m wasn't up to par. If your motherboard is decent, you could consider upgrading to a 13th-gen CPU, but if not, going for an AM5 build might be worth the investment.

Before upgrading the CPU, think about your gaming resolution. If you're playing at 1440p, your current setup might still be fine without an immediate CPU upgrade.

I'd be cautious about upgrading the CPU with your current motherboard. It has limited VRMs and is DDR4, so any CPU upgrade might not give you the best performance boost.
