I'm currently using an i7-9700kf along with a GeForce 3080 and a 1440p monitor. While my PC has run many modern games fine, I can feel the CPU starting to lag behind—it's become a bottleneck. I'm looking to upgrade to something that can alleviate this issue without going overboard. I also realize that I'll need a new motherboard since I'm on a ROG Strix Z-390E. I'm open to both Intel and AMD options. What do you recommend for a reasonable upgrade?

It'd be helpful to know your budget first. If you're aiming for an AM5 upgrade, expect to spend around $600 for the CPU, motherboard, and RAM.
I guess around $500 to $600 is my max. AM5 might be stretching it a bit.
