I'm curious about the privacy aspects of KIK. When you delete your account, what kind of data, if any, does KIK retain? I've heard they don't keep any actual chat logs, but what about identifiable information? Do they store records of group memberships? If so, for how long?

You might want to check KIK's privacy policy for details. It's hard to say for sure what they keep, but it's a good place to start.
Actually, you shouldn't assume they don't keep any chats. The way things work online, there's a possibility that they or even the government might have records that aren't easily accessible.
From what I've gathered, they might only store things for a short time and only locally. When I deleted and redownloaded the app, all my previous chats were gone, so it seemed like they don’t back it up on their servers.
They do mention having a CCPA data erasure request in their policy. I tried submitting mine, and while they sent me a confirmation that my data was deleted, I later requested info and they still had my IP logs.
