What do I need to upgrade for Borderlands 4 at 3440x1440p 144Hz?

I've been holding off on upgrading my gaming setup for a while, but I've finally reached a point where I need to improve my rig to play the games I want. My current system with an i7-8700 and GTX-1070 isn't cutting it anymore, especially considering my monitor's capabilities. I'm looking to run Borderlands 4 at 3440x1440 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. Is it realistic to do this with a budget of $1500?

You might manage it using an upper mid-range card with upscaling and frame generation, but that could be tricky for FPS games. Again, we'll need to see how it runs once it's out before finalizing anything!

For running games at 1440p, considering options like a 5070 Ti and a 7800X3D could be good. If you're trying to stick to that $1500 budget, a used 4070 Ti build might also fit the bill, so keep an eye out for deals!

Check out this build I found under $1500! It features a 9700X processor and a 9070XT, which is close in performance to a 5070 Ti, plus 32GB of RAM for a smooth 1440p gaming experience. Just remember, you might need to rely on frame generation. Here’s the link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rBDn4p

Honestly, it might be best to wait until Borderlands 4 releases so we can see how it actually performs before diving into hardware shopping. You don't want to end up with parts that won't work well together!

Best way might be to search for Borderlands 4 benchmarks once the game is out, just to see how different setups perform. That info should really help narrow down your choices!

True, but remember, the game isn't released yet!

You're essentially looking at building a new PC. Getting solid performance for under $1500 is going to be tough. If you're okay with 80-90 FPS at 1440p, you might be able to make it work, but it will be a challenge!
