What do I need to upgrade my CPU for better gaming performance?

I'm planning to upgrade my CPU because my current build, which is around six years old, is starting to hold back my gaming experience. I'm using a Ryzen 3800X with an X570 Aorus Pro motherboard, 32GB of 3200 DDR4 RAM, and a 2080 Ti graphics card. I believe a new CPU will help eliminate the bottleneck I'm facing, especially since I'm not expecting RAM prices to drop anytime soon. I'll likely need a new motherboard and RAM as well. My budget is about €1000, but I'm open to spending a bit more if it means significant improvements. It would be great to get a motherboard that's compatible with future CPU generations, though that's not absolutely necessary. Any recommendations?

For a solid upgrade, you might want to check out the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It’ll give you an awesome performance boost. Pair that with a compatible motherboard like the Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite and some DDR5 RAM, and you’ll be set. I put together a parts list that comes to around €970, well within your budget. Just make sure to check the compatibility with your current setup before buying!

Sounds good! Do you have a link to the part list?

Honestly, if you're mostly playing games, your Ryzen 3800X might not be as much of a bottleneck as you think, especially with the 2080 Ti. You could save some money and just upgrade to a Ryzen 5700X or 5800X. Both options are compatible with your x570 motherboard, so you won’t need to swap out your RAM as well. That would keep your costs down and still give you decent performance.
