Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my setup that includes a Ryzen 9 5900X and a Gainward Phoenix RTX 3080 Ti. I have a 4K monitor (MSI MPG 274U) and a 2K monitor (Dell S2721DGF). I want the 4K display to be my primary and the 2K display as secondary in portrait mode. However, I can't even get the PC to POST when only the 4K display is connected. It turns on but then goes to a "no signal" state. If I connect the 2K monitor to a specific DisplayPort, I can boot up fine, but I only see the 4K display once I log into the OS. During use, the 4K screen randomly goes black for a few seconds. If the PC goes into standby or I turn off the displays, I get no signal and have to reset the PC to get it back. I've tried several DisplayPort cables, updated my monitor and GPU firmware, and installed the latest Nvidia drivers. I'm considering ordering two new DP 1.4 cables and possibly flashing a new VBIOS if I can find one. I've come across various forums discussing similar issues with Nvidia's newer graphics cards and high-resolution displays. If anyone has suggestions to resolve this, I'd greatly appreciate it!

You might want to try using a shorter cable for your 4K display. I faced a similar issue with my RTX 3070 when connecting to a 4K TV. When I tried to run 4K at 120Hz, it often resulted in a black screen or no display at all. The problem usually stems from the bandwidth of the cables; some just can’t handle the 48 Gbps required for high resolutions and refresh rates. Get a cable that's labeled "ultra high speed certified" to ensure it meets the requirements. If it doesn’t work, at least you can rule out the cable as the cause.

I just ordered a couple of Ugreen DP 1.4 cables that are 3 meters long. They specify a data transfer rate of 32.4 Gbps. Should I be looking for something different? Any particular brands you recommend?
