I've been exploring different career paths and machine learning (ML) caught my attention. I'm curious about the day-to-day responsibilities of a machine learning engineer (MLE). Do they mainly focus on training models, or is it more about preparing and filtering data? How much of their work involves actual data science? What skills are critical for them?

From what I've gathered from my friends in the field, most ML engineers are heavily involved in data science. While there's definitely a component of research and software engineering, especially for large-scale AI models, many ML engineers spend a lot of time implementing ML tools that help businesses. So yes, a big part of it can feel like data science!
That's interesting! Do you know anything about the hardware aspects? I’m leaning towards hardware and would love to know if there's a specific career path that suits that interest.
