What do you think of my PC build for gaming and creative work?

I've been fine-tuning my PC build based on my research and I'd love your thoughts on it! My main uses will be gaming (at 1440p), programming, and occasionally working with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere. I'm aiming for this setup to last me about 6-7 years without needing hardware upgrades. My rationale for choosing 64GB of RAM is that I want to avoid the potential issues with DDR5 and four sticks down the line. I'm also looking to run VMs efficiently without stressing about their RAM requirements.

For the CPU, I selected the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D because it seems to be a solid choice for gaming and my other tasks, but I'm wondering if the 9700X might be a better option. As for the GPU, I opted for the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT. It looks like it can handle 1440p pretty well and I'm not too focused on ray tracing, but it still seems capable. Prices are pushing me away from the 5070Ti, even though it's a bit more powerful. Here's my complete build:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D AM5
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX AM5
- RAM: Kingston Fury Beast, DDR5, 64 GB, 6000MHz
- GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend 16GB
- SSD: WD 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Black SN850X
- PSU: Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 v4 ATX 3.1 850W
- Case: Phanteks XT Pro Tempered Glass
- CPU Fan: Arctic Freezer 36 Black
- Additional fans: Arctic Freezer 36 Black 120mm (3 pcs)

Let me know what you all think! Thanks for any tips and feedback!

Your build looks solid overall! I think you're making smart choices, especially with the RAM and CPU. I'd suggest keeping an eye on GPU options since prices can fluctuate a lot. You might get a good deal on a better card if you're patient. Also, 64GB of RAM will definitely serve you well for gaming and multitasking, especially with VMs. Good luck with your build!

Totally agree, the more flexibility you have with the GPU, the better. Prices can shift, and there might be some good deals if you wait a bit. Plus, 64GB of RAM is definitely a future-proof move!

Looks great on paper! Just a heads up on the GPU though: I’ve seen the 5070Ti drop in price lately, so keep an eye out. If it gets close to the 9070XT, it might be worth considering since it could offer you some extra performance!

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. If the 5070Ti becomes cheaper, definitely consider it, but I think your choice of the 9070XT is smart for now given your requirements!
