What Does It Mean for a Linux Distro to Be Immutable and How Are Driver Updates Handled?

Hey everyone! I've been using CachyOS for a few weeks now, and I'm considering making the switch to Bazzite. It seems like a good option for me, but I have some questions about a couple of things before I dive in. Firstly, can anyone explain what 'immutable' means in the context of a Linux distro? I enjoy experimenting with my PC, but since I'm new to Linux, I'm a bit concerned that an immutable distro might limit my ability to make changes, especially regarding the kernel. How much do these restrictions actually impact experimentation?

Secondly, I'm worried about graphics drivers and playing new games. In my Windows experience, I've had to update drivers to get certain games to work correctly. Does this kind of situation happen in Linux too? How long does Bazzite typically take to release driver updates, or are drivers released independently?

Oh, and is Bazzite really beginner-friendly for gaming tools? I prefer not to spend hours setting everything up manually.

I've been using Bazzite on my two gaming setups without too many issues. As for driver updates, it’s quite straightforward; you just run a system update to get your video drivers. It’s not like Windows where you have to mess around with individual drivers for different hardware. I've updated everything without any hassle, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that!
