What ergonomic gear should I get for my WFH setup under $600?

Hey everyone! My company is giving me $600 to improve my home office setup. I already have a comfortable IKEA chair, a dual monitor setup, AirPods, an AT2020 microphone, and an HD webcam, but I spend 6-8 hours a day at my desk. I'm really looking for comfort and focus, rather than aesthetics. I'm wondering what ergonomic gear I should invest in to make my workday better. Should I go for a standing desk, noise panels, better keyboards, or something else? What would you grab if you were in my shoes? Also, if you know of any good deals, that would be awesome!

I'd definitely recommend a standing desk and a trackpad mouse. It really helps with comfort during long hours! Plus, my cat loves to camp out on my standing desk when I'm up. I got a Smartdesk 2 that fits perfectly in my small space and running around 10K steps a day feels much better than sitting all day! Totally worth the investment for both my back and my cat's happiness.

Haha, that's hilarious! Cats do have a way of stealing our chairs! I agree, standing desks are a game changer.

What’s appealing about a trackpad? I’ve been wondering if it’s just more ergonomic compared to a laptop's trackpad or if it’s better for multitasking with a separate keyboard.

Logitech's MX Master series is great for productivity. Combined with a standing desk, that could seriously enhance your setup! And don’t forget an anti-fatigue mat if you go for the standing desk—it makes a big difference!

I agree! The ergonomics of a good mouse can really help your hand during long hours.

What’s the best deal you found for the MX Master? I’ve been wanting to upgrade my setup!

Check out walking treadmills if you're considering standing desks! I got one a few years ago, and it has made all the difference. I can walk while I work, which keeps me active throughout the day and helps prevent any issues from sitting too much.

Definitely! Getting outside for walks on breaks helps too. Walking shoes are a must!

That sounds awesome! I need to incorporate more walking breaks myself.

Have you thought about getting a top-notch chair like a Herman Miller? I have an Aeron and it’s a total game changer for my back! Yes, they can be pricey, but I believe it's worth the splurge, especially if you’re sitting for long hours.

ChairEnthusiast -

The Aeron is amazing! I wish I could afford one. But honestly, any proper ergonomic chair is a huge upgrade.

You might need a crowd-fund for that Herman Miller, it’s quite the investment!
