What GPU and CPU Should I Choose for Playing Arc Raiders at 1440p 120fps?

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new gaming PC mainly for Arc Raiders, and I'm looking for some advice based on real-world experiences. My main targets are:

- **Resolution**: 1440p (QHD)
- **FPS**: aiming for a stable 120fps
- **Settings**: High (but I'm okay with lowering a few heavy settings to Medium if it helps stability)

I really want smooth frametimes for a competitive feel. I'm not locked into a CPU yet, but I'm primarily focused on picking the right GPU to consistently hit that 120fps at 1440p.

Here are some specific questions I have:

1. What GPU can realistically handle 1440p High at 120fps stable?
2. Would a 4070 Super or 4070 Ti Super be sufficient for this?
3. How much does the CPU choice matter for maintaining stable 120fps in this game?
4. Is using DLSS Quality with Frame Generation a good option for competitive play, or does it create noticeable input lag?

If anyone is already playing at 1440p 120fps, I'd love to hear your specs and settings. Thanks a lot! 😊

What's your budget? It's pretty tough to build in this economy. In your case, if you keep your budget around $1000 or less, cards in the 60 series might be suitable. You might want to consider buying used parts if finances are tight, especially since RAM prices are high these days. Maybe look at DDR4 along with an Intel or AMD option from the last couple of generations.

I’m looking at around $1,500-$2,000 for the whole build since I’m in Brazil and prices are higher here. I want smooth performance at 1440p, nothing too flashy—just competitive gameplay. Prebuilt options are usually overpriced compared to custom builds.

For the ultimate performance, you might want to consider something like the 9850x3d paired with a 5090. That setup will handle Arc Raiders like a dream, but it might be a bit pricier than what you're looking for.

That sounds super expensive! I'm hoping to stick to a more budget-friendly option.

You could go with a 7800x3d and either a 5070 or 9070. If you're planning for the future and want to play newer titles, consider the 9070xt or 5070ti for that extra power. The 40 series cards are decent, but their used prices are creeping up to where new 50 series cards are priced now. Just buy new if you can! Also, Arc Raiders is pretty CPU dependent, so you won't have any issues with a 7800x3d bottlenecking a 5070. For DLSS, it's perfect for shooters, but frame generation may add some input delay, though I've found it doesn't bother me much in FPS games at all.
