What GPU and Power Supply Should I Upgrade for PC Gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC to get into gaming. My current specs are an Intel i5-11400 processor, a B560M DS3H motherboard, 16 GB of RAM, and a very outdated GT 1030 GPU. I also have a PS5, but I'm ready to transition to PC gaming. A friend mentioned that I should prioritize a good power supply (around 650W or more) and upgrade my graphics card. They said my processor is still good, so I should focus on the other components first. My budget for this upgrade is around $550, with a stretch up to $700 if needed. What graphics cards would you recommend that won't bottleneck my setup, and can you suggest a reliable power supply that fits my budget?

You could also consider the Arc B580 or the RX 6700 XT for your GPU. Make sure to grab a good PSU rated at 650W for about $100. With everything lined up like that, you should be ready for smooth 1080p gaming!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m mostly looking to play at 1080p, so these options sound great!

Definitely don't skimp on the power supply; it's super important for keeping your PC safe. Aim for at least $100 on a good PSU. For graphics cards, I'd recommend looking into Radeon options like the RX 6700 XT or the RTX 4060 if you find them for under $300. They provide great performance for the price!

If you’re planning on gaming at 1080p, you should check out the RX 9060 XT. It comes in 8GB and 16GB versions – I’d go for the 16GB if you can swing it. As for a PSU, the Montech CENTURY II 850W is a solid pick for $80, which gives you some room for future upgrades.
