I'm a game developer building a new PC after my previous system broke, and I need to choose a graphics card. My budget is about £500, or roughly $676, with a little flexibility if the upgrade is worthwhile. What GPUs would you recommend for game development and gaming?

The best choice depends heavily on what you’re upgrading from and which software you use. Since this is a new build, also check that the power supply, case clearance, and CPU are suitable for the GPU. For a general-purpose gaming and development build, prioritize a card with at least 12–16GB of VRAM if you can find one within budget.
At that budget, an RTX 5060 8GB or Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB should be realistic options. The 9060 XT gives you more VRAM, which can be useful for game development and higher-resolution textures, while the RTX card may be preferable if you rely on CUDA, ray tracing, or specific NVIDIA tools.

Thanks! My actual budget is £500, which is about $676, so I can go a little above the original figure if needed.
