What GPU Should I Get for My Ryzen 5 5600 in 2026?

I'm planning to bring my gaming PC back to life after using it as a media server for over a year. Right now, it has a GeForce RTX 3060, but I'm thinking of upgrading it. I want to know which graphics card would pair well with my Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and provide decent frame rates for modern games. My budget is £600, and I'm not a hardcore gamer, so something that can handle the upcoming Resident Evil game at 1080p to 1440p would be great and last a few years. What do you suggest?

If you're aiming for 1440p gaming, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is a solid choice. However, it's a bit pricey at around $440 right now. The RTX 3060 is decent, but if you're looking for a real upgrade, you might want to consider saving a bit more for something like the RX 9070, which is right at the edge of your budget.

That’s good to know! I’ve seen people say the 9060 can struggle, though. Is there really a big difference from the 3060?

Honestly, the best route is to first figure out what games you actually want to play and at what settings. Given your budget and needs, I think the 5070 12GB is your best bet for balance between price and performance. It won't bottle-neck with your CPU and can handle most games at decent settings.

Thanks! I play mainly AAA titles, so this sounds promising.

Honestly, I'd suggest just getting the best card you can afford right now. Your CPU will likely be upgraded in the future, so don’t hold back on a good GPU. Look at what’s overheating your budget, like the RX 9060 XT or even the 9070—both are great choices for future-proofing.

Since you're not too specific on resolution, most GPUs will work just fine. The 6800 is a powerful card. I’ve got it with the same CPU configuration and have been pretty happy with 1440p gaming performance. It should fit your needs over the next few years without any worries.

I’ll definitely look into the 6800, appreciate the tip!
