I'm looking for a good graphics card to pair with my i5-9400. As I'm not planning on upgrading my PC anytime soon, I want something that will last. I currently have a GTX 1650 and I'm not interested in getting a 3050. My rig is a pre-built Asus ROG Strix GL10CS-IN037T with the following specs: i5-9400, 16GB RAM, GTX 1650, a 650W 80+ Gold PSU, and a 75Hz 1080p monitor. I was considering an RTX 4060, but I've read that it could bottleneck with my CPU. I'm really confused and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks! 🙏🏼

If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, the RX 5700 can be found for about $100 used on eBay. It's not top of the line but still offers decent performance for modern gaming without breaking the bank. Just a heads up if you don't want to spend too much!

I just picked up a used RX 7600 for around $170 for a friend with an i5-9400, and I think anything in the 8-16GB VRAM range would be solid for you too. Cards like the 6700 XT or 6750 XT are going for about $200-220 and would pair well with that CPU. Definitely steer clear of the RTX 4060 or 5060—they're not great value for the money right now.

I was considering the 4060 because my case doesn't have much airflow, but I see your point about the value. Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, avoid the 4060 for sure! Performance-wise, it's not the best match for your CPU.

The CPU bottleneck is something you can work around. Your system is a standard ATX setup, so you could upgrade to an i5-12400F and a B760 DDR4 motherboard for about $215 total. For a GPU, if you want 8GB of VRAM, the RX 9060 XT is a great option at $280. Otherwise, a used RTX 3060 for $200 is also a decent choice, though it's a bit slower.
