What GPU should I upgrade to from my RTX 3060?

I'm considering a GPU upgrade from my RTX 3060 (12GB). My current setup is mainly for casual gaming; I play titles like The Alters, Satisfactory, RE4, and some JRPGs. Occasionally, I fire up Monster Hunter on and off and also dive into Path of Exile. I usually game from my couch on a 75" Sony TV (X900E) and prefer 4K at 60Hz if the game can handle it, but I'll drop to 1080p if there's any stutter. Eventually, I plan to upgrade my TV for 4K at 120Hz, though that doesn't seem necessary for most games right now.

I'm looking for options in the $800 range, give or take a few hundred, though I could spend up to $2k if absolutely necessary. I briefly considered the AMD 9070, but prices have spiked. I might also need a new power supply depending on what card I choose, as my current one is a 750W Seasonic.

Here are my PC specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (AM4)
- GPU: RTX 3060 12GB
- Motherboard: ASROCK X570 Taichi
- RAM: Teamgroup DDR4 RGB 3200 (32GB, 2x16GB)
- Storage: Seagate Firecuda 530 1TB NVMe Gen4 (boot) and Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVMe Gen4 (secondary)

If you're planning to stick with casual gaming and some productivity work, I'd recommend going for an RTX 5070. It should fit well with your Ryzen 7 and not necessitate a new power supply unless you want to overclock. Just steer clear of dual fan models if you're doing VRAM-intensive tasks, as it might limit performance in certain games.

You might be right; the Seasonic 750W should hold unless you push your components hard.

I'm actually considering using Blender or Unreal Engine as well, but most of my work is just SQL and Excel stuff, so it should be fine.

Everything in your setup looks solid, but since you're on AM4, I'd suggest looking at the newer generation cards like the 40xx or 70xx series. The 5070 Ti or AMD 9070 XT could be good options for you.

I was eyeing both the 5070 and the 9070 XT, but I'm curious if the 5080 is worth it. I'm a total picture quality snob, and stutters drive me nuts.

Haha, yeah, but a new smoker would be tempting too—those things are amazing!

If I were in your shoes, I'd go for a 5070 Ti and maybe splurge on that new 4K 120Hz OLED TV. You likely won't need a new PSU with it.
