What GPUs Match the 4070/4070 Super with 16GB VRAM?

I'm looking for alternatives to the 4070 and 4070 Super that offer similar performance and price efficiency but come with 16GB of VRAM. I've heard mixed reviews about the 12GB VRAM limit; it feels inadequate for a powerful card like that. I've seen mentions of the 7800 XT, but I'm curious what other options are available, including older models. I don't mind the power usage or age of the GPU—just want to compare what's out there!

The 4070 Ti Super actually comes with 16GB VRAM, so that's another option to think about. It's a great GPU overall!

That's good to know! Definitely adding it to my list.

If you’re aiming for 16GB VRAM without spending a fortune on an Nvidia GPU, you should definitely consider Radeon cards. The 7900 GRE is a solid choice; it's an older model but performs a bit better than the 7800 XT. However, if you're looking for something new, the 9070 would be the top pick, assuming prices are similar. Also, there are rumors about the upcoming 5070 Super, which might bring 18GB VRAM, so that could be worth waiting for!

On the Nvidia side, your options are pretty limited. You're mostly looking at used 3090s, which can be power-hungry and overpriced, but you might find a used 4070 Ti Super as well. For AMD, check out the 6800 XT, 6950 XT, and 7800 XT. I’d personally recommend the 9070 or 9070 XT as the best bang for your buck right now!

That's interesting, but I have to say I’m surprised AMD gets so much love here given their weaker ray tracing and upscaling features. Have you tried the new Nvidia tech? It’s impressive!
