I'm looking to buy a graphics card that can handle gaming on a 1080p 144Hz monitor. There's a possibility that I might upgrade to a 1440p monitor in the next couple of years, so I want to keep that in mind for future-proofing. I primarily use Linux, but I also have a dual-boot setup, so I'm trying to decide between AMD and Nvidia options. Additionally, I've considered workstation graphics cards - do you think some of those could be a more cost-effective option compared to gaming cards? My setup includes a Ryzen 7 8840HS CPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD, with an Oculink port available.

For a solid experience, I'd recommend going for at least a 16GB 9060XT or a 5060Ti. If you're set on using a workstation PC, Nvidia might be the better choice due to their compatibility and support.
I've been using a 9060XT with 16GB for 1440p gaming and it's been great! I think it would handle 1080p at 144Hz just fine too, especially for single-player titles. Just make sure your games run well on Linux!

Do you primarily play single-player games, or have you found some good online options that work well on Linux?
