Hey everyone! I'm trying to install a hard drive into an Acer GX-781 that I got for free from a family member. The PC didn't come with a hard drive, so I'm a bit lost on what kind I need. Do I have to get a specific type of hard disk, or can I choose one based on certain specs? I know this computer is a bit older, so I don't expect it to run heavy games like Genshin Impact well, but I'd love to play something simpler like The Sims on it. I'm really new to this, so any tips would be super helpful! Also, English isn't my first language, so I hope I'm using the right terms!

I found a Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB M.2 SSD that I think might work because it looks similar to the old one. What do you think?
I recommend going for an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive. Most PCs from the last 20 years should be compatible with 2.5" SATA SSDs. Just make sure to check the specs to see if it supports M.2 NVMe SSDs too, since those are more modern.
Any SATA drive should work just fine with your PC. A 2.5" SATA SSD is a good option, although they're a bit less common. It should meet your needs for games like The Sims without a problem!
That won't work for your build. You need a SATA M.2 SSD instead of an NVMe one, even though they look similar. Alternatively, you can go with a 2.5" SSD—both options are compatible. I recommend checking this list for all compatible drives: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#D=0&t=0&A=800000000000,24000000000000&sort=price&page=1.
