Hey everyone! I'm currently vtubing and running two separate models on my PC. I'm using 2 instances of VTube Studio, 2 instances of VBridger, and OBS, all at once. Often, when I check the Task Manager, those programs show a 'very high' power usage rating. I haven't yet tried running a game alongside all these programs — I'm planning to use my PS4 for game capture with a capture card. I'm starting to worry my PC might get damaged from all this power usage. Here are my specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8 core)
- Nvidia 2070 Super (8GB)
- Corsair Vengeance (32GB RAM)
- WD Blue 3D NAND (1TB internal SSD)
Do you think upgrading my graphics card would help with this issue? If so, what would be a good option? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Honestly, your PC should handle that load without issues. PCs are designed to operate at full power. The 'very high' power usage you're seeing just indicates that the system is working hard, not that it's in danger of being damaged. Just make sure your cooling is good, and you might not need to upgrade just yet!
It shouldn't be a problem for your hardware since PCs can run at 100% capacity. Unless you start experiencing overheating, which could be damaging, I'd focus on optimizing your software. If everything runs smoothly besides some glitches, it might be more about software efficiency than needing new hardware right now.
Got it! I’ll keep an eye on temperatures and see if optimizing helps more than just upgrading.
That's good to know! So it's not alarming if things are running at max power regularly?
