Hey everyone, I've been out of the loop for the last couple of years, and I'm curious about what's been happening in the tech space since spring 2023. Any major changes or trends I should be aware of?

There's definitely less staffing and more work these days. The push for new concepts like platform engineering and GitOps is huge, but everyone is still trying to figure out CI/CD and security integration. Also, don't forget about all the office politics—now you need to make sure you're attending those in-person meetings more often!
It seems like fewer people are spending blindly on cloud services now. Kubernetes is still at the top of its game, but on-call duties still haven't improved much!

Honestly, the biggest change is the surge of AI everywhere! Expect tons of vendor spam now flavored with AI content, and the quality of posts has taken a hit. Seems like a lot of folks are just rushing to use AI for quick fixes without actually understanding the basics anymore.

A lot has shifted with folks now using AI tools to help with coding and tasks; it’s a game-changer if you know how to use it right! Meanwhile, cloud economics and cost control are becoming a major focus. Also, as usual, new buzzwords pop up every year, but don’t rush to catch up; by the time you do, they might be outdated already!

Overall, it feels like not much innovation if you look closely. The usual struggles remain; AWS and Azure are still competing heavily, GCP seems to be fading a bit, and Kubernetes is everywhere. Just remember, with all these tech advancements, AI is taking a bigger seat at the table now!

I hate going into the office, but thankfully, I only have to twice a week!
