I noticed a process named unzipwatcher.exe in my Task Manager after downloading an Excel file from my teacher for a school project. The installation date of this executable matches when I downloaded the file. I checked it on VirusTotal, and it flagged it as a Trojan. Is this truly a Trojan? Also, why would my teacher have a Trojan in a file he created, given his limited computer skills?

It's important to check how many VirusTotal scans flagged it as a Trojan. Just one detection might not mean much, while a significant number could indicate a real threat. Ultimately, whether it's malicious also depends on the file's behavior and properties, not just antivirus detections.

You typically don't install Excel files, you just download them. However, Excel files can potentially contain malware. I found that unzipwatcher.exe is associated with File Viewer Pro. Do you have that program installed on your computer?
