I'm starting a repair business and I've got an old Dell XPS I want to set up as my office PC. I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution that will run smoothly on older hardware. My setup is an i7 4790 with DDR3 RAM. Since this computer will be used for business and accounting purposes, I'd prefer a desktop environment that is compatible with KDE, Cinnamon, or similar, but definitely not GNOME. I've been using Linux for about two years; it's my daily driver, but my experience has mostly been with creative and sysadmin tasks rather than practical business applications like spreadsheets. I'm eager to hear what distros you all recommend for my situation!

You might want to check out the MX Linux XFCE edition. It's designed for older hardware and comes packed with useful features right out of the box. Another good option is AntiX, which is lightweight and offers a ton of flexibility if you’re looking to experiment a bit with different setups.
I hadn't heard of MX Linux before, so I'll definitely look into it! Does Ubuntu still run well on older machines? I usually only use it for servers, so I'm not familiar with the desktop experience.
