I've been using Windows 10 for quite a while now, but my PC isn't compatible with Windows 11. I'm considering switching to Linux, as I really enjoy playing old games and those from platforms like itch.io. I've heard some recommendations for different distros like Mint, Fedora, and Pop!_OS, but I'm looking for advice on which one would be the best for gaming, especially for older titles. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect; it's not my first language.

Mint could be a great option, but virtually any distro should handle your needs just fine! You can even run Windows games from itch.io using Wine or Bottles. Plus, if you add them as non-Steam games, you can run them through Proton on Steam, which I've successfully used for titles like Cyberpunk 2077. It’s worked well for me!
The gaming experience on Linux has been improving significantly across all major distributions. If you're still worried about Windows, remember that Windows 10 will receive free security updates for another year, so you've got time to transition. If you're really into playing old games, I usually stick with Debian myself.
Honestly, any Linux distribution should work fine for playing old games. However, I personally recommend Linux Mint for desktop users and Pop!_OS if you're on a laptop with dual graphics. They both offer great support for various gaming applications.
Thanks for the tip!
Why do you prefer Pop!_OS for laptops?
Distros are pretty flexible these days; they don't typically have a significant difference when it comes to gaming performance. So, you can really choose any that you like!

I was most concerned about running itch.io games, so this helps a lot!
