Hey everyone! I'm just getting started with Linux and I need some advice on which distribution to choose. I'm looking for a distro that can handle mp3 and mp4 codecs for video editing, has a user interface similar to SteamOS or Bazzite, and can be customized to look really nice. I don't mind doing some tinkering to get it just right. Any recommendations?

If you’re after that Bazzite vibe, go for the Bazzite distro itself—it's like a customized version of SteamOS for non-Steam Deck stuff. It's based on Arch, so if you're okay with some tinkering, it's worth it. Just remember, you might need to put some work into getting everything set up right. Oh, and learn backup basics early on!
I'd suggest trying Linux Mint 22.1 with the Cinnamon desktop. It's user-friendly and can handle everything you're looking for, plus it's great for beginners to learn Linux!

Just a heads-up, though! Bazzite has issues with certain RGB controls, like NZXT coolers. If you're looking to customize your setup fully, you might hit some snags here.
