What Linux Distro Should I Try After Ubuntu?

I've recently started exploring Linux and began with Ubuntu. While I've been using it daily, I realize I need a distribution that encourages me to learn the basics of Linux better. I'm considering dual booting with Windows on my fairly new laptop, so something lightweight like Puppy Linux isn't necessary. What would be a good next step for me?

Honestly, if Ubuntu works for you, I'm not sure why you're looking for another. Most distros have similar foundations; it's about personal preference. Just experiment with different flavors and find what you like!

I've been using Linux since the 90s, and I have to say Mint is my favorite too. It works perfectly from the get-go, which is great for someone just starting out.

As a newbie, I really recommend Linux Mint. It’s super user-friendly and has everything you need right out of the box.

I agree! Mint is just so polished, and I found it easy to navigate!

If you want to explore more distros, check out the distro selection page in the wiki. It has some useful comparisons. Just remember to keep regular backups and maybe play around with a few in a VM first!

You might want to try Fedora! It could really change your perspective on Linux, and it's got a great community.
