I have an HP laptop running Windows 10 Pro with an Intel Core processor at 2.60GHz and 6GB of RAM (5.87 usable). I've watched a few videos on YouTube about Linux distros, but I'm not sure which one would be the best fit for my system. I'm a casual computer user, so any tips or advice for someone new to Linux would be appreciated!

I’d recommend starting with Linux Mint. It's user-friendly, and it'll run smoothly on your hardware! Plus, it has a nice interface that feels familiar if you're coming from Windows.

With only 6GB of RAM, you might want to avoid heavier desktop environments like Gnome or KDE. Go for something lighter, like XFCE. I installed Linux Mint XFCE on an older laptop, and it worked like a charm! You'll have better performance in your browser that way.

Actually, both Gnome and KDE could run fine if you're not opening a ton of tabs and apps at the same time. (K)Ubuntu or openSUSE Leap would work fine too!

Definitely consider a lightweight desktop environment like Xfce or Mate. Distros like Linux Mint Xfce, Xubuntu LTS, or Lubuntu LTS are excellent choices for your specs. They offer a good balance of performance and usability.
