Hey everyone, I recently tried to warranty my 13900k after updating the BIOS on my Asus Tuf Z690 D4 WiFi motherboard. It said the update was successful, but when I installed the new CPU, I just got nothing. The fans spin, but the motherboard is stuck on the yellow DRAM light, no matter what RAM sticks I try or even if I try booting with no RAM at all. I've tested an old 12th gen chip and my original 13900k, but there's no change. Since my motherboard doesn't support flashback or USB-only BIOS updates, I think I might need to get a new one. I'd prefer to keep my DDR4 RAM if I can. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting already. Have you checked all the connections again? Sometimes testing everything outside the case (test bench) can help rule out any case-related issues.
I'm using an MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 with an i5-13600k and I've been happy with it overall. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi can be a bit glitchy and the Realtek sound drivers were a hassle to find at first.
MSI generally has all their drivers on the support page for each board model. Just check your Pro Z690-A DDR4 there for the latest sound drivers!
Could it be a failed motherboard or power supply? That might explain the lack of response when powering on.
I have an MSI Z690-A Pro DDR4 board on my 12900k, and I really like it. Just be aware it might need a BIOS update for the 13th gen CPUs, but it has a flashback feature so you can update it easily from a USB stick without needing a compatible CPU.
Yeah, I’d say just make sure everything is connected properly. It’s odd to get no response at all except for the DRAM light.
