What NAS Brands Should I Consider for Stability in Disaster Recovery?

I'm looking to replace our old NAS and would love some recommendations for brands or models that prioritize stability. Our focus is primarily on disaster recovery, so functionality is important, but we want to make sure we're choosing something that won't deteriorate over time. Any thoughts on reliable NAS options out there?

It really depends on your needs, like how many users you have or the amount of data you're looking to store. For small setups, I'd suggest a few options: Synology, UGREEN, Unifi NAS, or you could go the DIY route with TrueNAS. Personally, TrueNAS has been my go-to recently, although it might not be as user-friendly as some others. Synology used to be the best, but their hard drive policy is a bit annoying now.

I heard they reverted part of their HDD policy quietly. It might only apply to consumer models, but it’s a step in the right direction.
