What PC parts do I need to upgrade for 4K gaming on a budget?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC for 4K gaming, but I don't have much experience with building one. My current specs include a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, an RX 580 8GB graphics card, and 16GB of RAM. I recently bought a monitor that supports both 4K and 2K resolutions, and my current setup isn't sufficient for high settings in games. I'm considering getting an RX 9070 graphics card, but I'm not sure if I'll need a new CPU as well. I also have a limited budget for this upgrade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Upgrading to a 9070 would definitely enhance your gaming experience. Just make sure to check your power supply (PSU) as well, since your new graphics card will require enough wattage to run smoothly.

When you say "not a big budget," how much are you actually looking to spend? That may help others suggest the right parts.

Honestly, the 9070 should handle 4K gaming to a degree. I don’t get why some think the 9070XT is a massive improvement; if the 9070 can play 4K, it should suit your needs too.

Since you're on a tight budget, aiming for 4K gaming can be tricky. The RX 9070 is great for 1440p gaming but may struggle with 4K on high settings. If you go with the 9070, your current motherboard and RAM should work fine. Just consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5700X or 5800X CPU for better performance. To truly enjoy 4K gaming, you might need to save a bit more and look for a better card like the 9070XT, but that means switching to AM5 and possibly higher RAM prices. It's worth weighing whether you want to stick with 1440p, or budget for a bigger upgrade.

Thanks for the insight! If I decide to go with the 9070XT, what specifics do I have to change? I’d love to save where I can.
